Uniform Shirt Money Due: Next year our school uniforms tops are changing from green to white. It is mandatory for each student to purchase one school uniform top from the school. The school is the only provider of Lantrip green polos. Place your orders by June 30, 2012 for $10.00 per shirt. After the deadline the price goes up! Stop by for sizing during the Town Hall Meeting on May 22, 2012 from 5-6.

Science Updates



First Grade

April 30 – May 4, 2012

This week in science class the students will complete Chapter 2, How we use Trees and have a TEST on Tuesday. Monday the class will complete the Chapter Review page 46 #1-10. TEST is on Tuesday. Thursday and Friday the class will finish building their model of a bird nest.

For the Week of April 23

First Grade Science Updates
April 23-27, 2012
This week in science class the students will complete Chapter 2, How we use Trees and have a TEST next week. Monday the class will read and discuss pages 32-37 and work on an assignment page 77. Tuesday the class will discuss how some animals use trees pages 38-43. The students will be assigned pages 91and 93. Thursday the class will collect pieces of trees to build a bird nest to model how trees can be used for shelter. Friday the class will write their vocabulary words in their Journal (natural resource and shelter). TEST next week Tuesday.

GT Project Assignments
GT Project Assignments went home on Friday. If you have any questions please feel free to contact your child's teacher. Projects are due: May 15, 2012. The GT Expo is May 17, 2012.

Rumpus in the Rainforest
Save the Date for March 23, 2012 at 1:30pm. We still need your help! Send in your yellow form for sign up. Costume ideas are coming home today if you need any assistance please let your child's teacher know.

HAPPY EARTH WEEK!

We have an exciting funfilled week ahead. Here are somethings we have planned for the week
Monday: Teachers read the Lorax and shared the importance of caring for the environment.

Tuesday: Lantrip CAN recycle. Please click this link for creative projects for empty can goods. Bring aluminum cans to school and help us adopt an acre of rainforest


Wednesday: EARLY DISMISSAL @ 12:45pm


Thursday: Lantrip students give up TV watching and computer use for one day and save electricity! Enrichment Activity: Journal about your experience without electricity.


Friday: Reclycling Parade is from 1:30pm PK-2nd ONLY! Parents are welcome to line the hallways and clap for the students. Students may wear a white, blue, green, or earthday shirt with jeans.

April 16-20, 2012This week in science class the students will continue Chapter 2, How we use Trees. Monday the class will take their recycled paper off the drying pad and make a plan for the art work. Tuesday the class will discuss Earth Day and plan a slogan for their recycled paper. Thursday and Friday the class will work on Earth Day activities
